High Plains
Kennel Club

High Plains Kennel Club (HPKC), in Douglas County Colorado, is an all-breed club licensed by the United Kennel Club (UKC).

Our members are dedicated to information and education regarding purebred dogs. HPKC furthers sportsmanship and competition in conformation, obedience and rally events held under the rules and requirements of the UKC. We hold two UKC-sanctioned all-breed or multi-breed shows every year, in June and November, and matches in conjunction with other dog clubs.

If you're interested in joining our club, please fill out the Membership Application

We are involved in our communities by participating in Meet the Breed exhibitions; Bark in the Park held in Aurora, Colorado, each September; and club booths in conjunction with other community and local events. In addition, we work to educate the public, especially children, in all aspects of dog care and dog interaction.

Please E-mail the Secretary (NO solicitations or advertising will be accepted at this email) for an updated meeting schedule.

Occasionally meetings are cancelled or moved due to show conflicts, so please contact a club officer or board member to confirm that an upcoming meeting will be held. Not only do we conduct club business and discuss/plan upcoming events, we also enjoy the camaraderie of each other and our common love of dogs.

Honoring a Legacy:
The Sandy Atkinson Memorial Trophy is Retired but Never Forgotten

Sandi Atkinson lived life marching to the beat of her own drum—graceful, determined, and deeply passionate in all she pursued. A beloved figure in the Doberman Pinscher community, Sandi and her husband, Neil, operated AdobeDobermans, where they bred and raised beautiful, well-loved dogs.

Her dedication extended far beyond her kennel. Sandi was an active member of the Plum Creek Kennel Club and served faithfully as secretary for the United Doberman Club, the Rocky Mountain Doberman Pinscher Club, and the High Plains Kennel Club. Her professional life was equally accomplished—Sandi worked as a Senior Paralegal for 30 years, bringing the same poise and professionalism to her legal career as she did to her canine pursuits.

But it was Sandi’s radiant smile and generous spirit that touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her memory lives on in her family and countless friends whose lives she so lovingly enriched.

As we retire the Sandy Atkinson Memorial Trophy, we do so not with sadness, but with deep gratitude for a life that brought so much joy and meaning. Though the trophy may rest, Sandi’s legacy will continue to inspire — and she will never be forgotten.
